The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (www.elca.org) – helps you find churches throughout the country, obtain information about finances (yours and the church’s), and find ways to help others. Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School (www.faithlutheranlv.org) – is a Lutheran, Christian school that provides an excellent education along with extra-curricular activities across a broad range of interests. Grand Canyon Synod (www.gcsynod.org) – is the synod of ELCA that includes St Andrew Lutheran Church; at this site you can find information about local churches belonging to ELCA as well as many worthy programs for helping those less fortunate. Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (http://iglesialuteranaagustina.org) (Augustinian Lutheran Church of Guatemala) celebrated 20 years of service in 2011. Las Vegas Rescue Mission (www.vegasrescue.org) – helps those in need with daily meals, overnight shelter, a recovery program, and access to a thrift store. Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (www.lssnv.org) – provides food pantry and clothes closet for people in need, as well as supportive services for senior citizens, youth, and low-income families. At the Assisted Living Institute, we have conducted a review of over 20,000 assisted living facilities across America, with more than 90 of these in the state of Nevada. While the national average cost of assisted living in 2018 is $4,000, our research indicates that the median cost of assisted living facilities (ALFs) in Nevada are lower, at only $3,500 per month. Opportunity Village (www.opportunityvillage.org) - is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities, providing them with vocational training, employment, and social recreation services that make their lives more productive and interesting. Safe Nest (www.safenest.org) – provides confidential assistance including shelter, food, clothing, counseling, education, and other services to individuals experiencing domestic violence, while maintaining the highest respect and dignity for their clients. Street Teens (www.streetteens.org) – a volunteer based, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting homeless, abandoned, and at risk youth, ages 12-21, in the Las Vegas Valley. The Shade Tree (www.theshadetree.org) – is a safe shelter for homeless and abused women and children in crisis and offers life-changing services to give stability, dignity, and self-reliance to those in need.
